Junior is based at Amatikulu Nature Reserve where the Swamp Nightjar is special bird. He is an expert with all the small “Little Brown Jobs” and also knows the best locations for the localised Green Barbet.

He works for WESSA undertaking research and participating in school outreach programmes. He has a quiet passion for birding and an uncanny knack of locating even the most hard to find species. He and Sakhamuzi Mhlongo work well as pair providing cross referals during busy periods.

Junior is a site guide for Amatikulu Nature Reserve, Nkandla Forest, Dlinza Forest, Eshowe, Mthunzini, Richards Bay, Ongoye Forest, Umlalazi Nature Reserve. He has been a Birdlife South Africa accredited guide sine 2005 and has been guiding since 2000. Early summer from November and December is when forest birding is at its best. June/July is also good for birding parties.
